Institute Location and Accommodation

ACEI has arranged for a special hotel room rate for Institute attendees. For single and double rooms, the rate is $235 USD per night plus tax. The dates of the Institute are 20-22 April 2017, but the special room rate is available for a few days before and after the Institute.

We have just learned that the March for Science will also be happening during the time of the Institute, as well as some other events. Please make your hotel reservation soon as DC hotels may become full. Please make your hotel reservation soon. Reservations can be cancelled. Space is limited.

Travel by Air

Three major airports serve the Washington, D.C. area: Reagan National Airport (DCA), Dulles International Airport (IAD), and Baltimore Washington International (BWI).

Travel by Rail

Participants traveling regionally may consider taking an Amtrak train to Washington, DC’s Union Station. Union Station is a 10-minute walk from the Hyatt Regency, Capitol Hill Hotel.

Travel by DC Metro

The closest Metro stop to the hotel is Union Station on the Red Line of DC’s Metrorail system. Union Station is a 10-minute walk from the Hyatt Regency, Capitol Hill Hotel.

Please be aware that registration for the event and all travel and accommodation costs are at your expense and are, therefore, not covered by ACEI.


U.S. Visa Requirements

If you’re a non-U.S. passport holders, please refer to the U.S. State Department website or your local U.S. consulate to find out if you require a visa to travel to the United States. Should you require a visa to enter the United States, we highly encourage you to begin the application process early and expect longer processing times.

U.S. Visa Invitation Letter

By request, ACEI will provide a letter of invitation if it is required to process your U.S. visa application. A standard SAMPLE invitation letter can be viewed here.

Please register for the institute before requesting an invitation letter. To request an invitation letter, please complete the form found in the link below, and allow for 5-7 business days to process your request. All requests need to be received no later than Monday, 3 April 2017. Please plan accordingly.
